Well the first contest of the SPASM Spring season is complete
. What was looking to be poor weather actually resulted in some pretty good soaring and lift. We had four members participate in this contest; Chris Bolden, Larry Thomas, Dale Carmack, and Steve Franc. Unfortunated Larry had to drop out of the contest after only one round due to questionable electronics and some slight damage while attempting his first spot landing. We started flying around 9:50 AM and concluded the contest around 11:00 AM, getting in 5 rounds. Each contestant timed for themselves and launches were spaced several minutes apart so as not to cause too much confusion during landings. A perfect score which included 5 rounds of max flight time on the dot and spot landing bonus points would have resulted in a perfect score of 2050 points. So here are the results: In first place with a score of 1825 (only one spot landing bonus) was Chirs Bolden
. Second place went to Steve Franc with 1783 points (two spot landing bonuses)
, and in third place was Dale Carmack with 1734 (no spot landing bonus points)
