Come out and celebrate the end of another year of fun at the SPASM Christmas Party. We’ll be meeting at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, December 10th. The fine dining experience of Monterey Mexican will be the choice again this year. Monterey is located in the San Souci Shopping Center for those of you who live under rocks. This will be our only meeting with any kind of agenda, as we have to agree on the contest schedule for next year.

I’m sure that JW will also have some awards made up to announce.

RC Soaring Digest

Two pictures of the Super J-II were published in the October RC Soaring Digest. While they didn’t use my favorites, Julie took some good ones that they liked. Perhaps I should send in a picture of the tree that swallowed that plane!

SPASM Stuff (T-Shirts Mostly)

We talked this summer about another round of club t-shirts. I got a request from outside the club for one of last year’s shirts, so I set up a store at CafePress so that you all could order the t-shirts directly. Obviously, if everyone wants one, we can go in together and save shipping, but if you just want to order one, go right ahead.

Soar Winner Results

After three heated rounds that saw two perfect scores, a crash on takeoff, and numerous flights into the low clouds, Matt Tillman edged out Dale Carmack and Brian Hoerning to win our second August contest.

The winning Super J-II

Matt managed to improve his lead for the SPASM Cup over Steve Franc, while Dale and Brian both closed the gap. A great turnout of 8 fliers, despite the questionable weather (it was too nasty for Chris to fish, but OK to fly?). For more information, check out the forums.

We are a group of radio control sailplane enthusiasts in Southern Maryland. SPASM has been formed as a means by which we can share in our enjoyment of silent flight, the fun of competition, and the laughter of a bunch of crazy modelers.
